History and Duties
The Appropriations Committee is responsible for proposing legislation that allocates funds to the numerous government agencies, departments, and organizations on an annual basis. With its nine sub-committees, Appropriations is responsible for holding hearings as well as approving said legislation for a $22 billion balanced budget.
Appropriations Subcommittees
The Senate Appropriations Committee is comprised of thirteen subcommittees, each of which is responsible for a specific area of interest.
