RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Robert Jenkins on his retirement; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Robert Jenkins retired from his position as bar manager at the Valdosta Country
Club on September 29, 2007; and
WHEREAS,
he began his career with the country club as caddie master and assistant
bartender, and he became bar manager over 50 years ago; and
WHEREAS,
he is known and loved far and wide, and he was presented the Reynolds Medal by
the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Bartenders Hall of
Fame for his service to the country club and the community; and
WHEREAS,
a retirement party was held on October 13, 2007, at the Valdosta Country Club to
give his many admirers an opportunity to bid him a fond farewell;
and
WHEREAS,
it is only right and proper that this great and honorable man be recognized and
honored for his many contributions to his community.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
and commend Robert Jenkins on the event of his retirement and thank him for his
many years of faithful service.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Robert Jenkins.
