RESOLUTION
Congratulating
Mrs. Ghila Sanders on the occasion of her naturalization as a citizen of the
United States; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Ghila Sanders was born on June 11, 1974, in Rome, Italy; and
WHEREAS,
her father, Enzo Ottolenghi, and mother, Claudia Di Castro Ottolenghi, were
children during World War II, and both share the experience of escaping the
conflict by hiding in convents; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Sanders, whose father recently celebrated 50 years as a member of the
Italian courts, earned her law degree at La Sapienza University, Rome, in 1998
and received her Master of Business Administration degree at Georgia State
University in 2005; and
WHEREAS,
she enjoys running and recently completed a half marathon in Atlanta, and she is
the loving wife of Alan David Sanders and the proud mother of Danny, Jeremy, and
Rose; and
WHEREAS,
naturalization is a long and difficult process for many applicants, and as Mrs.
Sanders completed that process and became a citizen of the United States on
March 23, 2007, it is fitting and proper that this body congratulate such an
accomplished new citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
congratulating Mrs. Ghila Sanders on the occasion of her naturalization as a
citizen of the United States.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Ghila Sanders.
