RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Colonel Richard C. Crotty for his outstanding service to North
Georgia College and State University; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
North Georgia College and State University is the only state-supported
institution of higher learning in the United States that is also a military,
coeducational, liberal arts college; and
WHEREAS,
through his knowledgeable expertise and conscientious advice, Colonel Richard C.
Crotty has contributed immeasurably to the future of North Georgia College and
State University by helping to direct the course of its military science
program; and
WHEREAS,
North Georgia College and State University has a strong reputation for producing
some of the nation's top military and civilian leaders throughout its 130 year
history, producing 39 flag officers and a number of successful business CEOs and
government officials; and
WHEREAS,
as a member of the North Georgia College and State University Class of 1980,
Colonel Richard C. Crotty is a living embodiment of the school's long tradition
of excellence, serving with distinction as the assistant to the Joint Chiefs of
Staff Director for Operations, Reserve Component, at the Pentagon in Washington,
D.C.; and
WHEREAS,
as he has commanded the esteem of countless peers, colleagues, and friends,
Colonel Richard C. Crotty has brought honor to the State of Georgia and the
United States.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
the extraordinary accomplishments of this distinguished citizen of Georgia,
Colonel Richard C. Crotty; commend his meritorious service to his beloved alma
mater, North Georgia College and State University; and extend to him their
sincerest best wishes for his future health and
fulfillment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Colonel Richard C. Crotty.
