A RESOLUTION


Recognizing New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the congregation's first service was held on January 10, 1999, featuring a sermon entitled "In the Upper Room" inspired by the Gospel of Luke; and

WHEREAS, on February 1, 1999, the name "New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church" was adopted, and in the following March the church formally received its charge; and

WHEREAS, the Lord blessed the New Covenant congregation graciously in the year 2000, a year that saw the church move into its own place of worship and marked the acceptance of six new members, four of whom were baptized; and

WHEREAS, in 2001, the congregation added two new members, organized a church choir, and moved to a new location in Garden City, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, in 2002, the church installed new microphones and began its New Covenant Bread Ministry; and

WHEREAS, the church continued to thrive and grow, year by year, receiving three new members in 2003, two in 2004, five in 2005, and three in 2006; and

WHEREAS, on August 29, 2004, with the loving care and support of his congregation, Brother Charles B. Stell, Sr., was licensed to preach the word of God; and

WHEREAS, New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church is a congregation of humble believers with a strong faith in God, whose inspirational courage, patient and heartfelt work, and spirit of giving have carried them through these early years and will ensure their continued growth and strength in the Lord.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in commending New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church for their ministry to the people of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church.
