RESOLUTION
Celebrating
the marriage of Miss Shantenet Janise Blount and Mr. Lawrence James Winston; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Lawrence James Winston proposed to Miss Shantenet Janise Blount with one
knee shaking on October 16, 2005, on a surprise visit from Jacksonville,
Florida, and the elated couple shared the joyous news of their engagement to the
delight of their family and friends; and
WHEREAS,
the bride and groom first met and fell hopelessly in love at Valdosta State
University where Miss Blount was a member of Delta Sigma Theta and Mr. Winston
was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha; and
WHEREAS,
this highly accomplished pair is well on the way to building a happy and
prosperous life together with Miss Blount having received her Master's degree in
Business Management at Troy State University and Mr. Winston having earned his
Bachelor's degree in Mass Media at Valdosta State University; and
WHEREAS,
the proud parents take great pride in the accomplishments of this outstanding
couple and look forward to welcoming their new son and daughter into their
families; and
WHEREAS,
with the support and love of their family and friends, Miss Blount and Mr.
Winston are to be married on March 24, 2007, at the First Christian Church in
Augusta, Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
celebrating the wedding of Miss Shantenet Janise Blount and Mr. Lawrence James
Winston and extend their sincere best wishes for a happy and healthy future
together.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Miss Shantenet Janise
Blount and Mr. Lawrence James Winston.
