RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Elder Damon J. Rodney; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Elder Damon J. Rodney became a member of the Savannah United House of Prayer for
All People in 1974, receiving the holy ghost at an early age; and
WHEREAS,
he attended local schools in Savannah, Georgia, until his parents relocated in
1986; and
WHEREAS,
Elder Rodney loves to sing and praise the Lord and was always a member of the
House of Prayer band; and
WHEREAS,
Elder Rodney graduated from West Orange High School in Orlando, Florida, in
1994, where he was crowned the Homecoming King; and
WHEREAS,
after graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he continued working in
the House of Prayer; and
WHEREAS,
Elder Rodney has always worked diligently to conduct the Lord's work in the
House of Prayer; and
WHEREAS,
in 2002, he attended the McCollough Seminary in Virginia and graduated
valedictorian of his class; and
WHEREAS,
Elder Rodney is a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandson,
nephew, and cousin; and
WHEREAS,
he possesses a genuine love and respect for all senior citizens;
and
WHEREAS,
in 2005, Bishop S. C. Madison appointed him as pastor of the House of Prayer in
Newport News, Virginia, where he is now celebrating his one year anniversary of
pastorship; and
WHEREAS,
Elder Rodney is the husband of Sterlicia Green Rodney and the father of three,
Alexis D. Rodney, Damicia J. Rodney, and Damon J. Rodney, Jr.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily
commend Elder Damon J. Rodney for his impassioned, lifelong service to the Lord
and for the unconditional and loving care he has shown for his community.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Elder Damon J. Rodney.
