RESOLUTION
Remembering
Charles Benjamin "Ben" Robertson upon his passing.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Robertson was a former Kennesaw City Councilman who helped bring to Kennesaw
the locomotive made famous in the Civil War´s "Great Locomotive Chase";
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Robertson had always been passionate about the story of the "Great
Locomotive Chase" and made it his personal mission to bring the General back to
Kennesaw; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Robertson was instrumental in establishing the Southern Museum of Civil War
and Locomotive History to house the locomotive; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Robertson spent 23 years on the Kennesaw City Council before retiring in
2001, and was also an artist who created the Kennesaw City logo, "Freedom
First," which features the locomotive; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Robertson shared a beautiful life with his wife, Dayle, and all who knew him
shall always miss him.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body remember
Mr. Charles Benjamin "Ben" Robertson upon his recent passing.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Dayle Robertson.
