A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and congratulating Miss Sara Agüero Jahannes, Miss Georgia Latina 2006; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Miss Sara Agüero Jahannes, the daughter of Ja and Clara Jahannes, is a sophomore at Wagner College where she excels in academics and actively participates in a wide range of performance and fine arts; and

WHEREAS, this graceful and gifted young lady has generously given her time and talents to others, serving as president of Students for Cultural Diversity and earning the Volunteer Service Award; and

WHEREAS, she proudly represented her beautiful hometown of Savannah in the 2006 Miss Georgia Latina pageant, advancing to become Georgia's nomination for the 2006 Miss Latina US national competition; and

WHEREAS, the Miss Georgia Latina competition is a scholarship pageant organized to celebrating young women who are considered to be beautiful, talented, and intelligent role models from different Hispanic backgrounds; and

WHEREAS, Miss Sara Agüero Jahannes has brought honor to the Latin American community, the City of Savannah, and the State of Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in recognizing Miss Sara Agüero Jahannes for her exemplary dedication to her education and congratulate her for winning the Miss Georgia Latina pageant.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Miss Sara Agüero Jahannes.
