A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Lamar Loftin; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Lamar Loftin is an inspiration to his fellow staff, exemplifying a combination of managerial finesse, sensitive customer service, and a level of candor rarely found in today's competitive workplace; and

WHEREAS, Lamar Loftin was awarded with the James H. Blanchard Leadership Award by the Synovus Financial Corporation at its 2007 Chairman's Awards; and

WHEREAS, Synovus Financial Corporation is a diversified financial services company based in Columbus with more than $30 billion in assets; and

WHEREAS, the Chairman's Award recipients are chosen from nominations submitted by team members throughout the company's five state banking network, and each award honoree receives a $1,000 cash award, while a $1,000 donation is made to the Jack Parker Scholarship Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Lamar Loftin was recognized for his consistent leadership style that inspired his team to lead by example, not by authority; and

WHEREAS, the Blanchard Leadership Award is given to individuals who show the greatest use of leadership and interpersonal skills like teamwork; and

WHEREAS, Lamar Loftin has earned the esteem of his colleagues and has brought honor to his family, community, and the State of Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize Lamar Loftin for his outstanding leadership and congratulate him on being awarded the James H. Blanchard Leadership Award.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Lamar Loftin.
