RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the Many Horses Foundation and their upcoming Walk for the Water event; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Gary Adler FourStar founded the Many Horses Foundation and is currently its
chief executive officer; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. FourStar is an enrolled member of the Costanoan-Rumsen Ohlone tribe of
California and is of Assiniboine lineage through his father, Jerome FourStar;
and
WHEREAS,
the Many Horses Foundation is an organization dedicated to elders, children, the
Earth, wild horses, and our planet's cultures and teachings; and
WHEREAS,
from May 20 through June 10, 2008, the Many Horses Foundation will hold Walk for
the Water, with events scheduled throughout this state, including an opening
ceremony on May 30, 2008, at Unicoi Lodge; an evening benefit concert and
daytime festival at Lake Lanier Island Resort on June 4; a ceremony on the state
capitol steps on June 9; and an evening presentation and talk by Dr. Emoto and
Indigenous Elders; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding efforts of the Many
Horses Foundation be appropriately recognized for the valuable services they
provide to the community and this state.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
Mr. Gary Adler FourStar and the Many Horses Foundation and commend them on their
efforts to bring balance to our world.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Gary Adler FourStar.
