RESOLUTION
Commending
Robert L. Lewis, Jr.; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
throughout his adult life, Robert L. Lewis, Jr. has served the Boy Scouts of
America first as an assistant scoutmaster and assistant explorer advisor on the
local level and then in various leadership roles in the county, the district,
and the council; and
WHEREAS,
he was a 1964 Philmont Expedition Leader and sustaining membership enrollment
chairman and member for Appling County; and
WHEREAS,
he was appointed and serves on the executive board of the council and has served
as council president and council endowment chairman; and
WHEREAS,
he is a Vigil member of the Pithlako Lodge of the Order of the Arrow and was
presented the Silver Beaver Award class of 1976; and
WHEREAS,
he has worked tirelessly to help make it possible for boys to participate in the
scouting movement and to gain the experience that scouting holds for each boy
and his future; and
WHEREAS,
Robert L. Lewis, Jr. is most deserving of recognition for his outstanding
service to scouting, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the remarkable
dedication of this extraordinary citizen be appropriately
recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Robert Lewis, Jr. for his many decades of dedicated, unselfish public service
and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and
happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Robert L. Lewis, Jr.
