A
RESOLUTION
Commending
Pastor James C. Ward and First Lady Idell Ward on the occasion of their 13th
anniversary at Antioch-Lithonia Missionary Baptist Church; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Pastor James C. Ward is the celebrated pastor of the Antioch-Lithonia Missionary
Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS,
under the leadership of Pastor Ward, Antioch-Lithonia Missionary Baptist Church
has continued to grow, both in membership and in spiritual maturity;
and
WHEREAS,
since Pastor Ward took over the pulpit on March 5, 1995, the membership has
grown from 550 members to over 2,500 members as of March, 2008; and
WHEREAS,
under his leadership, many ministries have been established, including a
marketing ministry, a deacons' membership ministry, a liturgical dance ministry,
a video ministry, a counseling ministry, a singles' ministry, a couples'
ministry, and a seniors' ministry; and
WHEREAS,
the crowning touch of Pastor Ward's ministry has been the relocation of the
church to its new site and its official rededication on November 7, 2004;
and
WHEREAS,
on the occasion of the celebration of Pastor Ward and First Lady Wards' 13th
anniversary at Antioch-Lithonia Missionary Baptist Church, it is abundantly
fitting and proper for this body to recognize with particularity the outstanding
accomplishments of this church, Pastor Ward, and First Lady Idell
Ward.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join
together in commending Pastor James C. Ward and First Lady Idell Ward on the
celebration of their 13th anniversary at Antioch-Lithonia Missionary Baptist
Church.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Pastor James C. Ward and
First Lady Idell Ward.
