Senate Resolution 1037

A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Mr. Gary Adler FourStar and the Many Horses Foundation; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Gary Adler FourStar is an enrolled member of the Costanoan-Rumsen Ohlone tribe of California, and is of Assiniboine lineage through his father, Jerome FourStar; and

WHEREAS, he is an interpreter, a teacher, and a guide in traditional ways; and

WHEREAS, he began his work in earnest almost 40 years ago, drawn to the wisdom of many elders and respected teachers from many tribal nations; and

WHEREAS, Mr. FourStar now lives in Georgia, and works with people both individually and in groups conducting seminars, lecturing, leading ceremonies, and facilitating healing work throughout the United States; and

WHEREAS, he brings years of experience to those seeking to know themselves, to know Creator, and to walk in balance through good relationship with the Great Circle of Life; and

WHEREAS, Mr. FourStar is currently the chief executive officer of the Many Horses Foundation, an organization dedicated to elders, children, the earth, wild horses, and our earth's cultures and teachings; and

WHEREAS, he is a member and Treaties Chief of the United Tribal Alliance, which is dedicated to the sovereignty of indigenous people and the unification of all indigenous tribal peoples throughout the world; and

WHEREAS, he has committed his life to the creation of working communities in right relationship through the natural and spiritual laws given to all people.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize Mr. Gary Adler FourStar and commend him on his efforts to bring balance to our world.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Gary Adler FourStar.
