A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend Code Section 31-11-31.1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to license fees for licensed ambulance services, so as to amend certain provisions relating to the collection of license fees for licensed ambulance services; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Code Section 31-11-31.1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to license fees for licensed ambulance services, is revised as follows:
"31-11-31.1.
(a) Every ambulance service, whether privately operated or operated by any political subdivision of the state or any municipality, as a condition of maintaining a valid license shall pay an annual license fee to the license officer in an amount to be determined by the Board of Human Resources but not to exceed $1,000.00. The amount of said license fee may be periodically revised by said board. Said license fee shall become due and payable upon the initial issuance of the license and each year thereafter on the anniversary date of the initial license issuance.
(b) All revenues collected from this annual fee shall be dedicated and deposited into the Indigent Care Trust Fund by the licensing officer for the purpose of aiding in the provision of ambulance services to those receiving indigent care."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
