BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act providing for election of the members of the board of education of
Cook County, approved March 28, 1986 (Ga. L. 1986, p. 5499), as amended,
particularly by an Act approved May 1, 2002 (Ga. L. 2002, p. 5615), so as to
change the provision relating to the compensation of the members of the board;
to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act providing for election of the members of the board of education of Cook
County, approved March 28, 1986 (Ga. L. 1986, p. 5499), as amended, particularly
by an Act approved May 1, 2002 (Ga. L. 2002, p. 5615) is amended by revising
Section 10 to read as
follows:
"Each member of the Cook County Board of Education shall receive $150.00 per meeting, up to a maximum of $300.00 per month, and the chairperson shall receive $175.00 per meeting, up to a maximum of $350.00 per month, for attendance of meetings of the board and while traveling within or outside the state on official board business as authorized by a majority of the board, plus reimbursement for actual expenses necessarily incurred in carrying out his or her official duties."

SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on the first day of the month following the month in
which it is approved by the Governor or in which it becomes law without such
approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
