BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 12-8-40.1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to tire disposal restrictions, so as to extend the period during which certain
fees imposed upon retail sales of new replacement tires may be collected; to
provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 12-8-40.1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to tire
disposal restrictions, is amended by revising paragraph (3) of subsection (h) as
follows:
"(3)
The tire fees authorized in this subsection shall cease to be collected on June
30,
2008
2011.
The director shall make an annual report to the House Committee on Natural
Resources and
the
Environment and the Senate Natural Resources and
the
Environment Committee regarding the status of the activities funded by the solid
waste trust fund."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
