A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend Part 1 of Article 4 of Chapter 12 of Title 45 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to management of budgetary and financial affairs by the Office of Planning and Budget, so as to require the creation of an Internet website on which the public can view the state budget; to provide for the content and capabilities of such website; to provide for other related matters; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Part 1 of Article 4 of Chapter 12 of Title 45 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to management of budgetary and financial affairs by the Office of Planning and Budget, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:
"45-12-96.
Not later than July 1, 2007, the Office of Planning and Budget shall establish an Internet website that shall be accessible by the general public on which a person can view the General Appropriations Act and the amended General Appropriations Act for each fiscal year and any amendments thereto, beginning with the General Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2008, and can search such Acts and amendments thereto by line item, agency, program, and revenue source. In addition, the Office of Planning and Budget shall provide such other search capabilities as the Office of Planning and Budget shall deem appropriate."

SECTION 2.
This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval.

SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
