BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 43-4-11 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to the qualifications of applicants for examination or certificate of
registration to practice architecture, so as to establish certain minimum
training requirements to qualify for certification by the Georgia State Board
of Architects and Interior Designers; to provide for related matters; to provide
an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 43-4-11 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the
qualifications of applicants for examination or certificate of registration to
practice architecture, is amended by revising subsection (c) as
follows:
"(c)
The applicant for a certificate of registration
who has met
the educational and training requirements set forth in paragraph (1), (2), or
(3) of subsection (b) of this Code section
and who has been registered as an
architect by another jurisdiction shall hold a National Council of Architectural
Registration Boards´ certificate and a certificate of registration in such
other jurisdiction, both of which shall be current and in good
standing, and
shall have a bachelor´s degree in architecture, architectural engineering
technology, or other bachelor´s degree with a substantial concentration in
architecture and at least four years of practical experience as the board, by
regulations uniformly applied, shall deem
appropriate."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
