A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend Chapter 1 of Title 28 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions concerning the General Assembly, so as to require the creation of an Internet website on which the public can determine how members of the General Assembly voted on bills and resolutions; to provide for the content and capabilities of such website; to provide for other related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Chapter 1 of Title 28 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions concerning the General Assembly, is amended by adding a new Code Section 28-1-18 to read as follows:
"28-1-18.
The General Assembly shall establish an Internet website which shall be accessible by the general public on which a person can, for each regular and special session occurring on and after July 1, 2007:
(1) Find the text of a bill, resolution, or amendment or substitute of such bill or resolution that was voted upon by either house of the General Assembly;
(2) Find the recorded votes cast by the members of each house on a specific bill, resolution, or amendment or substitute of such bill or resolution;
(3) Find the recorded votes cast on a specific bill, resolution, or amendment or substitute of such bill or resolution by a specific member of the General Assembly;
(4) Find the recorded votes cast by a specific member of the General Assembly on all bills, resolutions, and amendments and substitutes of such bills and resolutions for a particular session of the General Assembly; and
(5) Such other information and search capabilities as the General Assembly shall deem appropriate."
SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
