RESOLUTION
Commemorating
and celebrating the life of Ms. Sandra Ann Gilstrap; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Sandra Ann Gilstrap was born in Covington, Georgia on April 16, 1952, the
daughter of the late Sammie and Johnnie Mae Gilstrap; and
WHEREAS,
she attended Georgia State University and DeKalb Technical College and received
her honors in business education; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Gilstrap enjoyed a successful career in real estate as an assistant broker,
and she was very active in the civil rights movement in the 1970´s in
Covington; and
WHEREAS,
at an early age she joined Saint Paul AME Church, and while she attended other
churches after leaving Covington, she often returned to her home church;
and
WHEREAS,
she was a perpetually happy person who brought light to the world and those
around her; and
WHEREAS,
on July 3, 2006, Ms. Sandra Ann Gilstrap passed from this world, leaving it a
better place for her presence.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commemorate and celebrate the life of Ms. Sandra Ann Gilstrap and
extend condolences to her family and friends.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Ms. Sandra Ann Gilstrap.
