RESOLUTION
Honoring
Senior Pastor Jesse Curney III and New Mercies Christian Church; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Jesse Curney III, Senior Pastor of New Mercies Christian Church in Lilburn,
Georgia, is leading thousands to salvation by teaching the life-changing truths
of God's word; and
WHEREAS,
during the later part of 2001, God spoke to Pastor Curney while he was an
Assistant Pastor at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia, and
said, "I have a new thing for you"; and
WHEREAS,
upon hearing the voice of God, Pastor Curney began to fast and pray, seeking
guidance from God as to what to name his new temple dwelling, when he was
reminded by God that every day we arise God provides us with "new mercies";
and
WHEREAS,
Pastor Curney followed God's direction and began to call the baby that God was
about to birth "New Mercies"; and
WHEREAS,
with only three weeks of preparation for God's new ordinance, New Mercies
Christian Church's inaugural service took place on May 5, 2002, with over 1,000
well wishers in attendance; and
WHEREAS,
New Mercies Christian Church has multiplied from 35 founding families to more
than 2,000 members with over 35 active ministries to meet the needs of the
citizens of its community, making it one of the fastest growing churches in
Lilburn; and
WHEREAS,
on May 5, 2007, the church will celebrate a new campus with a ribbon cutting
ceremony; and
WHEREAS, an awesome visionary of God, Pastor Curney is admired throughout Gwinnett County and the State of Georgia for his outstanding integrity, commitment to hard work, effective leadership, ability to motivate, and his compassionate and inspiring spiritual guidance; and
WHEREAS, an awesome visionary of God, Pastor Curney is admired throughout Gwinnett County and the State of Georgia for his outstanding integrity, commitment to hard work, effective leadership, ability to motivate, and his compassionate and inspiring spiritual guidance; and
WHEREAS,
it is most fitting that the many contributions of Pastor Curney and New Mercies
Christian Church to their community and to Georgia be appropriately
recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that Senior Pastor
Jesse Curney III and New Mercies Christian Church are honored for their
outstanding service to the Gwinnett County community and thanked for their
invaluable contributions to Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby
authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to
Senior Pastor Jesse Curney III and New Mercies Christian Church.
