A RESOLUTION


Expressing sympathy at the passing of G. Brian Thompson; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, G. Brian Thompson, age 31, of Austell died Friday, February 16, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Brian was a lifelong member of Southwest Christian Church where he served as a youth intern. He graduated from Woodward Academy where he was the senior class president. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1994. He was a former Cobb County Police officer and was currently training with HomeBanc in mortgage banking; and

WHEREAS, he is survived by his parents, Woody and Betsy Thompson of Mableton; sisters, Laura Miller of Arlington, Virginia, and Susan Thompson of Los Angeles, California; grandmother, Virginia Thompson of Mableton; uncle, Senator Steve Thompson of Marietta; cousin, Amy Thompson Hill of Chicago, Illinois; aunt, Christie Vance and family of Tifton; uncle, Joe Thrash and family of LaFayette.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body hereby express their deepest regrets at the passing of G. Brian Thompson.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of G. Brian Thompson.
