RESOLUTION
Commending
the leadership of the 25x'25 National Organization; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
American agriculture is poised to play a more important role in meeting our
nation's future energy needs; and
WHEREAS,
increasing America's renewably energy use will bring new technologies to market
and save consumers money, reduce our dependence on oil from the Middle East, and
create good new jobs in rural America; and
WHEREAS,
leaders from across every sector of America's agricultural community have
established the 25x'25 National Organization; and
WHEREAS,
the stated goal of 25x'25 is "by the year 2025, America's farms, ranches, and
forests will provide 25 percent of the total energy consumed in the United
States, while continuing to produce safe, abundant, and affordable food, feed,
and fiber"; and
WHEREAS,
the 25x'25 Action Plan entitled "Charting America's Energy Future" has been
widely acclaimed as a visionary course of action for the nation;
and
WHEREAS,
Georgia leaders recognize the importance of developing a comprehensive
alternative energy industry; and
WHEREAS,
Georgia seeks to lead the nation in research and private sector investment in
alternative energy technology development.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the leadership of the 25x'25 National Organization for raising
the awareness of the American people on these vital issues and casting such a
laudable vision for meeting our nation's energy
needs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the 25x'25 National Organization.
