A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Georgia Associations of Health Underwriters and their nine
local chapters and inviting them to appear before the House of Representatives;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Georgia Associations of Health Underwriters is an organization of health
insurance and employee benefits professionals with more than 850 members in nine
local chapters, reaching every corner of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
they meet the health insurance needs of over a million of Georgia's citizens
through employer and individual health plans; and
WHEREAS,
their primary missions continue to be stabilization of the private health
insurance market in Georgia, providing answers for medically uninsurable
Georgians, and offering private market solutions as alternatives to public
program expansions; and
WHEREAS,
they continue to serve as a resource to legislators on issues central to our
ability to offer affordable health coverage to the market.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend the Georgia Associations of Health Underwriters
for their work in serving the health insurance and employee benefits buyers in
the State of Georgia and for their efforts to improve the health of all
Georgians.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that representatives of the Georgia Associations of Health
Underwriters are invited to appear before the House of Representatives at a date
and time to be fixed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives for purposes
of being recognized by the House of Representatives and receiving an appropriate
copy of this resolution.
