RESOLUTION
Commending
and congratulating Paul Sanford on winning his second traditional state
wrestling championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Paul Sanford, a senior at Northgate High School, has proven himself to be one of
Georgia's most outstanding wrestlers by winning the Traditional State Class
AAAAA Championship in the 119 pound category; and
WHEREAS,
this stellar young athlete is the first Coweta County wrestler to win two
traditional state titles, and his performance epitomized the courage,
determination, and character necessary to attain excellence and to achieve
success as an individual and citizen; and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable young man demonstrated iron determination and extraordinary and
athletic prowess in the state tournament, winning three matches with quick pins
and two by overwhelming decisions of 12-0 and 17-0; and
WHEREAS,
this magnificent athlete earned a well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of pain and hard work,
finishing the 2006-2007 season with a perfect record of 67-0; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary
accomplishments and commitment to excellence of such an outstanding
individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending Paul Sanford on his exceptional athletic
accomplishments for setting goals and realizing his dreams and congratulate him
on winning his second traditional state wrestling championship.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Paul Sanford.
