RESOLUTION
Honoring
Gerald Grinstein for his outstanding leadership of Delta Air Lines and
congratulating him upon his retirement; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Gerald Grinstein has served as chief executive officer of Delta Air Lines,
Georgia's largest private employer, since 2004; and
WHEREAS,
over the course of his service at Delta, Jerry's foresight and leadership have
guided our hometown airline through a turbulent period of bankruptcy;
and
WHEREAS,
he led the Delta management team through a series of negotiations with employee
groups and creditors; and
WHEREAS,
Jerry Grinstein and the other employees of Delta have worked hard to regain an
industry position of strength and leadership; and
WHEREAS,
under his leadership, Delta is now prepared to exit from bankruptcy as a strong
global carrier with a solid foundation for profitable growth; and
WHEREAS,
he has unselfishly donated the monetary recognition he would have received for
his hard work to Delta's employees by establishing and funding the Delta
Employees Care Fund and the Delta Scholarship Fund.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body honors
and affirms the work and leadership Gerald Grinstein has devoted to Delta Air
Lines, this state, and our communities.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Gerald
Grinstein.
