RESOLUTION
Commending
the Kennedy-Gregory family; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Kennedy-Gregory family held its first reunion in Indianapolis, Indiana, in
1981 to celebrate the history and tradition of its forefathers and foremothers;
and
WHEREAS,
the family reunion is held every few years; and
WHEREAS,
the oldest living family member is Ezekiel Joseph Kennedy who was born in East
St. Louis, Illinois, in 1925; and
WHEREAS,
the 26th reunion will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 5-8, 2007;
and
WHEREAS,
many family members will be attending the event from many states, including
California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, Tennessee,
and Texas, as well as many others; and
WHEREAS,
Edward and Josalyn Gregory will be coordinating the 2007 reunion.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the members of the Kennedy-Gregory family for their many
outstanding civic and professional accomplishments in their respective states
and for commemorating the heritage of their family.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Edward and
Josalyn Gregory.
