RESOLUTION
Recognizing
"Liturgical Dance Day"and the International Dance Commission; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
on September 7, 2007, the International Dance Commission will be celebrating
"Liturgical Dance Day" as dancers from around the world will take part in a day
of fasting, prayer, and worship; and
WHEREAS;
every Sunday morning, liturgical dance is expressed in thousands of ministries
across the State of Georgia; and liturgical dance ministers provide valuable
outreach programs serving inner city youth and instilling them with discipline,
the desire to pursue excellence, and a love of dance; and
WHEREAS,
the International Dance Commission's purpose is to serve as a multicultural
umbrella organization and resource pool for dance, worship arts ministries, and
dance companies throughout the world; and
WHEREAS,
the members of the International Dance Commission dedicate themselves to service
in their communities, sharing their gifts through the creative
arts.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize "Liturgical Dance Day" and the International Dance
Commission and its contributions to the creative arts and worship in communities
across the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Sabrina
McKenzie, founder of the International Dance Commission.
