RESOLUTION
Commending
the Stratford Academy Eaglettes cross country team; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Stratford Academy Eaglettes cross country team has established and
maintained a proud tradition of excellence in cross country running with equal
emphases on character and academics; and
WHEREAS,
this superlative team has completed another ultrasuccessful season of cross
country competition by posting an outstanding record; and
WHEREAS,
the remarkable performance of the 2006 team marked the continued success of the
Stratford Academy Eaglettes cross country team by winning the G.I.S.A. AAA State
Cross Country Championship and the Region 2AAA Championship; and
WHEREAS,
during the regular season, the Eaglettes finished first in five of their seven
meets and second in their other two meets; and
WHEREAS,
at the state meet, freshmen Kendall Cowart and Hannah Hall, who placed second
and third respectively, led Stratford to their second girls state title in
school history; and
WHEREAS,
Colleen Beringer, Mary Del Holleman, Lauren Hale, Lee Schroder, and Whitley
McEachern rounded out the top seven who competed at the state meet;
and
WHEREAS,
other team members were Morley Conn, Mary Parker Davis, Dru Fickling, Nancy Kate
Pippin, Amy Schwartz, Lauren Spillers, Emmy Stroup, Lisa Suh, and Sarah Wilfong;
and
WHEREAS,
this outstanding team is coached by Ginny Reeves and assisted by Michael
Harrison and Jeanie Mays; and
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of this team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team and their superb talents; and
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of this team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team and their superb talents; and
WHEREAS,
this magnificent team performed with precision during the season and earned its
well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic
achievement.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the Stratford Academy Eaglettes cross country team for its
unparalleled achievements and extend their sincerest best wishes for continued
success in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach Ginny
Reeves.
