RESOLUTION
Commending
Dada J.P. Vaswani; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
a humanitarian, philosopher, educator, writer, and nonsectarian spiritual
leader, Dada J.P. Vaswani has captivated the hearts of millions worldwide;
and
WHEREAS,
as head of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Dada J.P. Vaswani is dedicated to
spreading peace and the joy of faith through his many lectures at distinguished
forums such as the World Parliament of Religions, the Global Forum of Spiritual
Leaders, the United Nations Millennium World Peace Summit, the World Hindu
Conference in Colombo, the Global Forum of Spiritual Leaders and
Parliamentarians at Kyoto, the United Nations, and the House of Commons in
London; and
WHEREAS,
Dada has discussed the methods of happy, successful, spiritual, and
nonviolent
living in over 80 books in English and many more in the Sindhi language as well as translations in the Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Papio Mento, Arabic, Mandarin, Spanish, French, German, and Indonesian languages; and
living in over 80 books in English and many more in the Sindhi language as well as translations in the Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Papio Mento, Arabic, Mandarin, Spanish, French, German, and Indonesian languages; and
WHEREAS,
Dada J.P. Vaswani was a brilliant student who obtained his Bachelor of Science
degree at the young age of 17 and was awarded a fellowship at the D.J Sind
College for standing first in his class; and
WHEREAS,
after completing his Master of Science degree thesis on the scattering of x-rays
by solids under the Nobel Laureate Dr. C.V. Raman, Dada gave up a career in
academics to follow in the footsteps of his illustrious uncle and guru, Sadhu
T.L Vaswani; and
WHEREAS,
he began to spread the guru's ideas by editing three monthly journals, one of
which, The
Excelsior, became so popular that its
circulation surpassed that of the daily newspaper,
The Sind
Observer; and
WHEREAS,
Dadaji served as the Principal of St. Mira's College for Girls, where he became
an exemplary leader who was admired by teachers and students alike;
and
WHEREAS,
when Sadhu T.L Vaswani passed away in 1966, he passed the baton to Dada J.P.
Vaswani, who has since become an international beacon of hope and
peace.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Dada J.P. Vaswani for his outstanding humanitarian efforts
worldwide and extend to him their sincerest best wishes for his
future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dada J.P.
Vaswani.
