A RESOLUTION


Honoring and remembering the life of Mr. Clarence Clayborn "Clay" Chamblee III; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mr. Clarence Clayborn "Clay" Chamblee III was born to the late Clarence C. Chamblee, Jr., and Helen Brown Chamblee of Sparta, Georgia, where he was raised; and

WHEREAS, he worked in the insurance industry for most of his professional career, spending the last 14 years in Hancock County as the agent for Hancock County Farm Bureau; and

WHEREAS, his successes in the business world included numerous awards and recognitions, but he considered his biggest success to be his wonderful, loving family; and

WHEREAS, a friend to many, Clay Chamblee is remembered for his devotion to his wife and for his great love of his family, especially his children and grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, he touched the hearts and lives of everyone he met and was esteemed throughout the insurance industry and the community of Hancock County as a forthright businessman and a gentleman of unimpeachable character; and

WHEREAS, he is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Diane Wells Chamblee; his wonderful children and their spouses, Marc and Lisa Ziegler Chamblee and Heather Chamblee Russell and Russ Russell; his grandchildren, Rett Russell, Chamblee Russell, Eli Chamblee, and Caleb Chamblee; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and

WHEREAS, Georgia has lost one of its most distinguished citizens with the unfortunate passing of Mr. Clarence Clayborn "Clay" Chamblee III.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join together to express their deepest regret at the passing of Mr. Clarence Clayborn "Clay" Chamblee III and extend their most sincere condolences to his family.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mr. Clarence Clayborn "Clay" Chamblee III.
