RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending educator Thomas Willis; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Thomas Willis has provided the DeKalb County Schools with over 35 years of
dedicated service; and
WHEREAS,
he has served as a teacher at Columbia High School, assistant principal and
principal of Open Campus High School, and principal at the DeKalb Alternative
Night School in the DeKalb County Schools; and
WHEREAS,
he has demonstrated a lifetime commitment to children, particularly those who
are challenged by life circumstances and conditions that are beyond their
control; and
WHEREAS,
he has always sought ways to improve the conditions and life prospects of his
students by seeking and finding resources to help support them; and
WHEREAS,
Thomas Willis has provided excellent leadership to the educators of Georgia, has
been a fantastic advocate for underprivileged youth, and has served as a
sterling role model over a lifetime in education.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize the inspirational life and career of Mr. Thomas Willis,
commend his diligent service to students and educators throughout the State of
Georgia, and extend to him the best of wishes for his future health and
fulfillment.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Thomas
Willis.
