RESOLUTION
Commending
the Peach County High School Trojans football team for winning their second
consecutive Class AAA state football championship and inviting them to appear
before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on Saturday afternoon, December 16, 2006, the Peach County High School Trojans
football team won their second consecutive Class AAA state football championship
with a 28-7 victory over Shaw High School, the first state championship won at
Peach County High School; and
WHEREAS,
the Trojans´ triumph at the championship game comes after months of hard
work and dedication, capping another memorable season in the team´s history
with a record of 14 wins and only 1 loss, achieving a school record of four
consecutive region championships, and being undefeated in region contests for
four consecutive years; and the senior class members of this season´s team
had an outstanding record of 50 wins and 8 losses; and
WHEREAS,
the players performed as a true team and champions all year, and their
phenomenal performance as such is a clear indication of their collective
sterling character, superior athletic ability including outstanding offensive
and defensive talents, commitment and hard work, and unity and focus; and their
success also reflects the unmatched leadership of their outstanding coaching
staff; and
WHEREAS,
the Peach County High School football team has once again brought great honor to
its school and community in winning this highly prestigious title.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together in commending the Peach County High School football team
for winning their second consecutive Class AAA state football championship and
congratulate them on another outstanding
season.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Peach County High School football team and coaching staff are invited to appear before this body on a date and at a time designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
