RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Hightower Trail Middle School for outstanding contributions to
education in the State of Georgia and excellence in student academic
achievement; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
under the Georgia Single Statewide Accountability System, schools throughout the
state are graded on their success in meeting academic goals; and
WHEREAS,
only a few of the state's schools qualify to receive Platinum, Gold, Silver, or
Bronze recognition on the basis of the high percentage of students meeting and
exceeding standards; and
WHEREAS,
Hightower Trail Middle School has been named as one of these outstanding schools
in 2006, receiving the Silver Award in 2006; and
WHEREAS,
this award reflects the results of the exemplary endeavors of the school's
students, the dedication of their teachers and faculty, and the many
contributions of their parents.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that Hightower Trail
Middle School is hereby recognized, commended, and congratulated for its
outstanding contributions to education in the State of Georgia, its excellence
in student academic achievement, and the great credit this fine school reflects
upon Cobb County and the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Hightower
Trail Middle School.
