A
RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life of Robert "Pookie" Branham III and expressing regret at his passing;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia recently lost one of its finest and most distinguished
citizens with the tragic and untimely passing of Robert "Pookie" Branham III;
and
WHEREAS,
he was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Mr. Robert Branham, Jr. and Mrs. Precious
Bradley Branham and attended Oceanside High School in Oceanside, California, and
graduated from Therrell High School in Atlanta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Robert joined the United States Air Force in 1973, retiring in 1993 as a
Technical Sergeant. His speciality was Information Management, and he earned
meritorious service medals and awards, including a Master Information Management
badge. He also attended the NCO Academy and NCO Leadership School. He served
his country with honor and distinction in Operation Desert Storm and was later
stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.; and
WHEREAS,
he leaves to cherish his memories his mother and father; two daughters, Alana
and Nicole Branham; one son, Robert Branham IV; one sister, Tanya Branham; uncle
and aunt, Curtis and Mary Bradley; aunt, Inez Bradley; one great aunt, Ethel
Varner; one great uncle, Ernest Smith; special niece and nephew, Shemika and
Kevin Branham; and a host of other relatives and friends; and
WHEREAS,
the untimely passing of this generous, kind, and devoted family man leaves an
unfillable void in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Robert
"Pookie" Branham III; commend the care, courage, sympathy, and selfless
dedication he exhibited in carrying out his service to his country; and extend
to his family their utmost appreciation for his having so purely and truly
defined for others the meaning of service.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Robert "Pookie" Branham III.
