RESOLUTION
Commending
Vincent "Zippy" Duvall; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Vincent "Zippy" Duvall is a distinguished leader in Georgia agriculture who
currently serves as president of Georgia Farm Bureau, an organization consisting
of 437,734 members; and
WHEREAS,
he has served also as a member of the board of directors of the American Farm
Bureau, amember of the Governor's agricultural advisory council, vice-chairman
of the Rayle Electric Membership Cooperative, member of the board of directors
of the Greene County Farm Bureau, and member of the board of directors of the
Farmers Bank; and
WHEREAS,
he owns and operates Shady Oaks Farm, which produces beef, poultry, and hay;
and
WHEREAS,
his numerous honors include Greene County Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Man
of the Year in 2005, Georgia Cooperative Council Distinguished Cooperator in
2005, GACDS Conservation District Supervisor of the Year in 2000, and Georgia
Association of County Agricultural Agents Dairy Producer of the Year in 1998;
and
WHEREAS,
it is only fitting and proper that he be recognized by this body.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Vincent "Zippy" Duvall for his many achievements and
contributions to the welfare of his community and this state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Vincent
"Zippy" Duvall.
