RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Jikeme Daniels; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Jikeme Daniels of Clayton County, Georgia, won a gold medal on September 30,
2006, in the World Championship Kickboxing competition in Zadar, Croatia,
competing against older competitors from around the world including Ireland,
Great Britain, and Italy; and
WHEREAS,
this outstanding athlete is 14 years old, a ninth grade student at Riverdale
High School and the son of Geraldine Daniels, and has brought honor and credit
to his team, family, community, and country as a world champion athlete;
and
WHEREAS,
he began karate at the age of five and at age 11 received his 1st degree black
belt under the instruction of Mr. Tony Young of the Tony Young All Star Karate
Academy of Union City, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Jikeme has competed in over 100 tournaments and won numerous first place
trophies and grand champion titles all over the United States and also gives
generously of his time to schools, churches, and community organizations by
giving karate demonstrations and performances, and it is only fitting this body
should recognize the outstanding talent and contributions of this young
man.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend Gold Medalist Jikeme Daniels and convey to him
their heartiest congratulations and best wishes in his future
pursuits.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Jikeme
Daniels.
