A RESOLUTION


Commending Virgil Nave; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Virgil Nave is an honest and dedicated public servant who strives for excellence in all his endeavors and whose primary concern is the welfare and safety of the citizens of this state; and

WHEREAS, this beloved individual has exhibited extraordinary devotion to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all his duties throughout his career of peerless public service as a security officer with the Capitol Police Division since April 1, 1995; and

WHEREAS, his witty sense of humor, warm and friendly smile, and firm handshake are all well known by everyone who works in the State Capitol; and

WHEREAS, he coordinates and directs deliveries at the busy Capitol loading dock; and

WHEREAS, in addition to his other duties, Virgil provides special attention and accommodation to the Governor and the Secretary of State, as well as other state officials, as they arrive at and depart the Capitol; and

WHEREAS, his unparalleled organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his acute sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of his community and state earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and

WHEREAS, he has announced his retirement effective April 1, 2008, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Virgil Nave for his many years of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service; congratulate him upon the grand occasion of his retirement; and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Virgil Nave.
