RESOLUTION
Commending
Landon A. Brown; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Landon A. Brown has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the
vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to
the welfare of the citizens of Marietta and Cobb County; and
WHEREAS,
he attended Georgia State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in
Education; Mercer University, earning his Master of Education degree; and
Georgia State University, where he earned a Ph.D. in educational policy studies;
and
WHEREAS,
he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as
evidenced dramatically by his years of outstanding service on behalf of the Cobb
County School System, where he served as a teacher, assistant principal, and
principal; and
WHEREAS,
he is an active member of his community serving in civic and professional
organizations such as the American Educational Research Association, the
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Georgia Association
of Educational Leaders, the Georgia State University Alumni Association, the
Golden Key International Honour Society, the National Council of Teachers of
Mathematics, the National Education Association, the National Middle School
Association, the University Center of Educational Administration, and Pi Lambda
Theta, an international honor society in education; and
WHEREAS,
he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable public servant be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Landon A. Brown for his many decades of efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated public service and extend to him their most sincere
best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Landon A.
Brown.
