RESOLUTION
Commending
Mr. Hollis T. Daniel; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Hollis T. Daniel has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that he has played in the well-orchestrated running of the
Georgia House of Representatives; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Daniel was born on March 14, 1933, in Heard County, Georgia, to Heflin and
Katie Daniel, being one of four children; and
WHEREAS,
he married the love of his life, Cornelia, and was married to her for 53 and
one-half years, and they had a son and daughter, David and Jeannine, and two
granddaughters and two grandsons; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Daniel served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, and upon returning home
he went to work at the General Motors Plant and eventually for the U.S. postal
service where he retired after 33 years; and
WHEREAS,
he has served the House of Representatives in an exemplary manner as doorkeeper
for six years and also works in the House post office; and
WHEREAS,
he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his state as evidenced dramatically
by service to the Georgia General Assembly as a superlative doorkeeper for the
House of Representatives; and
WHEREAS,
his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience
and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his sensitivity to the needs of the
members of the General Assembly have earned him the respect and admiration of
his colleagues and associates and the members of this body in particular;
and
WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; his loyalty, competency, reliability, and enthusiasm have distinguished his excellent service to this state.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mr. Hollis T. Daniel for his efficient, effective, unselfish,
and dedicated public service to the citizens of this state and extend to him
their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Hollis T.
Daniel.
