RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Kennesaw State University for its commitment to environmental
sustainability; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
recently Tandus, a commercial floorcovering company based in Dalton, Georgia,
was awarded a carpeting supply contract for Kennesaw State University;
and
WHEREAS,
this landmark union is an example of Kennesaw State University's commitment and
dedication to providing a better quality of life for its students through
sustainable initiatives; and
WHEREAS,
Kennesaw State University has set stringent environmental guidelines for its
choice, and as a result, has received a product which is an innovative
sustainable product; 100% recyclable and warranted never to be land filled; has
an unprecedented 20 year warranty in a harsh environment without failure; has
acoustical attributes to help improve learning; homelike attributes to improve
comfort; low operating costs, with a payback potential of 3-5 years; needs
little or no water utilization during routine maintenance practices, saves
valuable resources; and contributes to improved indoor air quality through
non-detectable VOC's and lowest airborne particulate of other flooring
materials; and
WHEREAS,
Kennesaw State University's obvious, demonstrated commitment to the environment
should be commended for the positive effect on its students and the State of
Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together in recognizing Kennesaw State University and commend
them on their commitment and dedication to environmental
sustainability.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Kennesaw
State University.
