RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Marion Middle School Archery Team and inviting them to appear
before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Marion Middle School Archery Team recently competed in the state archery
competition in Perry, Georgia, at the Second Annual Georgia Fun Shoot;
and
WHEREAS,
the Marion Middle School Eagles not only won first place in the Middle School
Division, but also won first place overall team, beating other primary, middle,
and secondary schools; and
WHEREAS,
eighth grader Lindsay Robinson won first place female in the Middle School
Division and first place overall female score, beating all other female
competitors, and Adam Preston, a sixth grader, tied for third in the boys Middle
School Division score; and
WHEREAS,
a participant of the National Archery in the Schools Program since 2003, Marion
Middle School's win in the state competition has secured them a place in the
national competition in Louisville, Kentucky in May; and
WHEREAS,
the winning team members are Shelby Smith, Jessica McAllister, Kinsley Prevatt,
Jazmyn Elerson, Lindsay Robinson, Anslee Wodzinski, Paige Head, Ashley Turner,
Madison von Neumann, Landon Matthews, Chris Brown, Xavier Wimbush, Mic Miller,
Justin Tyler, Adam Preston, Chad Williams, Tyler Grimsley, Jesse Williams, Josh
Golden, Jonathan Lewis, Hunter Waller, Brantley Jernigan, Taylor Brown, and
Hunter Haas; and
WHEREAS,
the archers and coach of the Marion Middle School Eagles are to be commended for
their athletic ability and their maturity in achieving an impressive first and
third place award in the Second Annual Georgia Fun Shoot.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the Marion Middle
School Archery Team is recognized and commended for their abilities and
perseverance in the sport of archery and invited to appear before this body at a
date and time designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the
purposes of being recognized by the House of Representatives and receiving an
appropriate copy of this resolution.
