RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life and memory of Eugene "Gene" Stuckey; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Eugene "Gene" Stuckey of Jonesboro, formerly of Rhine, Georgia, was a
lifelong resident and distinguished citizen of Georgia, who was born on August
4, 1938, the son of the late Dora Bell Hardy Stuckey and John D. Stuckey;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Stuckey was the owner of Stuckey Property Management and Stuckey Pine Straw,
Inc.; and
WHEREAS,
he was employed by the U. S. Postal Service for more than twenty years, and
served as state president of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association;
and
WHEREAS,
he was a former part-time deputy sheriff of Bulloch County, and was a lifetime
honorary member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association, a board member of the
Georgia Board of Public Safety, and he served on the Council for Affordable and
Rural Housing; and
WHEREAS,
he was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Stuckey's survivors include his loving wife, Jill Pickenpaugh Stuckey and
his stepson, Brian Davis; and
WHEREAS,
all who were privileged to know this distinguished Georgian join his family in
mourning his loss.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body hereby
honors the life and memory of Mr. Eugene "Gene" Stuckey and expresses its
appreciation of his many contributions to his community, state, and
country.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Jill
Pickenpaugh Stuckey.
