RESOLUTION
Commending
the University of West Georgia Coed Cheerleading Team and inviting them to
appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
as the West Georgia Coed Cheerleading Team prepared for the 2008 nationals, many
wondered if the university's program could match its extraordinary past
achievements; and
WHEREAS,
at the 2008 nationals, West Georgia not only equaled its previous successes, but
the Wolves' program exceeded all expectations by bringing home two national
titles and establishing itself as a national powerhouse to be reckoned with;
and
WHEREAS,
under the direction of Coaches Scott Brown and John Morgan, the coed cheer squad
established its reputation and place as a national dynasty by winning its
seventh straight UCA Division II Championship as the Wolves' squad out-hustled
and outshone an impressive crop of competitors in the competition finals;
and
WHEREAS,
coed squad team members are Mr. Cory Brown, Ms. Gennal Duclo, Mr. Tommy Lane,
Ms. Sarah Masters, Ms. Brittany Moss, Mr. Brian Nichols, Ms. Sarah Roberts, Ms.
Stephanie Shouse, Ms. Christie Shouse, Mr. John Tuggle, Mr. Carlos Colon, Mr.
Patrick Warren, Ms. Taylor Southerland, Mr. Cody Sellars, and Mr. Jeremy
Federick, and all members of this outstanding team displayed a level of
competitive spirit that has rarely been equaled.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the University of West Georgia Coed Cheerleading Team, and
invite them to appear before this body on a date and at a time designated by the
Speaker of the House for the purposes of being recognized by the House and
receiving an appropriate copy of this resolution.
