A RESOLUTION


Commending Thomas Field Cone on becoming an Eagle Scout; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Thomas Field Cone of Boy Scout Troop 306 in Thomasville, Georgia, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout which will be awarded to him at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on February 17, 2008; and

WHEREAS, since 1911, the eagle has been the symbol of the highest achievement among the Boy Scouts of America; and

WHEREAS, the attainment of Eagle Scout rank indicates that a Scout has developed leadership ability, self-confidence, mature judgment, and mental and physical capabilities that will be of immense benefit throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Field Cone has amply demonstrated to his Scout leaders and peers that he possesses these qualities along with sterling character; and

WHEREAS, in achieving Eagle Scout status, Thomas Field Cone has brought honor not only to himself but also to his family and troop.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Thomas Field Cone for his diligence and dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Thomas Field Cone.
