RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and congratulating the 2007-2008 Central High School cheerleading squad of
Carroll County, Georgia, on winning the AAA Georgia High School State
Cheerleading Championship and inviting them to appear before the House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Central High School cheerleading squad served with distinction during the
2007-2008 season, winning the AAA Georgia High School State Cheerleading
Championship; and
WHEREAS,
these outstanding athletes demonstrated talent, discipline, coordination, and
teamwork throughout the season, and their cheerleading routines, tumbling, and
formations reflect their tremendous creativity, wonderful spirit, and powerful
athletic ability; and
WHEREAS,
the Central High School cheerleading squad has a long and well-established
history of excellence and achievement and has proven itself to be a fearless,
worthy opponent in the world of high school cheerleading as demonstrated by the
many awards it has received at recent cheerleading competitions;
and
WHEREAS,
the 2007-2008 Central High School cheerleading squad includes Kelsey Albright,
Beth Baines, Erica Buckner, Anna Carter, Brittnay Dewberry, Ashley Dix, Cierra
Ferrell, Jordan Fowler, Michael Garber, Loren Horton, Mary Hubbard, Carlie
Hulsey, Keely Jones, Tamara Moore, Alyson O´Kerns, Courtney Porter, Toya
Prothro, Rachel Robinson, Gretchen Shadrix, Katie Walls, and Jordan Wigginton;
and
WHEREAS,
the squad´s amazing performances clearly show the extensive training,
development, and direction these cheerleaders received from their dedicated
coaches Shannon Bednarowski, Kristy Camp, Chad Houck, and Ryan McKinnon and the
direction and support of their school faculty, fellow students, and family
members who share in their pride and achievements;
and
WHEREAS, the athletes on this outstanding team have brought great honor and credit to their families, instructors, community, and Georgia; and they stand as positive role models for other young people for setting goals, working hard, and achieving greatness as a team; and it is only fitting that this body should recognize their outstanding talent.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the 2007-2008 Central High School cheerleading squad for its
remarkable performance, congratulate the team on winning the AAA Georgia High
School State Championship, and extend their best wishes for continued
success.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Central High
School and coaches Shannon Bednarowski, Kristy Camp, Chad Houck, and Ryan
McKinnon.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the team members and coaches of the Central High School
cheerleading squad are hereby invited to appear before the House of
Representatives at a date and time to be fixed by the Speaker of the House for
the purpose of being recognized by the House and receiving copies of this
resolution.
