A RESOLUTION


Expressing regret at the passing of Alma Ruth Richardson; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Alma Ruth Richardson was born in Beckley, West Virginia, on August 14, 1948, one of 14 children born to Julius C. and Eula Wright Richardson; and

WHEREAS, she graduated from Stratton High School in Beckley, and she completed business school in Charleston, West Virginia; and

WHEREAS, she moved to Indiana to live with her sister in 1967 and obtained a job in the State Office Building; and

WHEREAS, she met Richard Lee Wilson, Sr., in 1969, and they were married in 1974 and spent the next 38 years together, raising six children; and

WHEREAS, Alma divided her time between caring for her family and working for the Lord by engaging in evangelism for her church family at Forest Manor United Methodist Church, for which she was awarded the Denman Award for outstanding work in evangelism; and

WHEREAS, she passed away on August 23, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer and is survived by her husband, Richard Lee Wilson, Sr.; daughters Kimberly Dee, Alta Marie, and Felicia Diana; sons Richard Lee, Jr., Eric Cornelius, and Preston William; along with five granddaughters, two grandsons, five sisters, one brother, and a host of other relatives and friends.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body express regret at the passing of Alma Ruth Richardson and convey condolences to her family and friends.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Alma Ruth Richardson.
