RESOLUTION
Honoring
and remembering the life of Byrne Forsberg-Restin; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most distinguished individuals
with the passing of Byrne Forsberg-Restin; and
WHEREAS,
she was born Bernice E. Johnson in 1922, in Larimore, North Dakota;
and
WHEREAS,
she attended college in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and later went to work for
Boeing Airplane Company where she met her husband, Navy Lieutenant Edward C. A.
Forsberg; and
WHEREAS,
they resided in Brooklyn, Houston, and St. Louis before settling in Atlanta in
1953, where they raised their son and daughter; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Byrne Forsberg-Restin was active in a number of organizations including the
PTA, Scouts, the High Museum of Art, the Atlanta Symphony and the Republican
Party; and
WHEREAS,
taking great pride in her Norwegian Lutheran heritage, she joined the Lutheran
Church of the Redeemer and lovingly served in many capacities; and
WHEREAS,
she and her husband were avid golfers belonging to golf clubs in Atlanta and St.
Simons Island, Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this
body join together in honoring the memory of Byrne Forsberg-Restin and extending
the deepest and most sincere condolences to her family and friends.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Byrne Forsberg-Restin.
