BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act providing a new charter for the City of Byron, approved February
13, 1941 (Ga. L. 1941, p. 1210), as amended, particularly by an Act approved
April 13, 2001 (Ga. L. 2001, p. 3770), so as to change the corporate limits of
the City of Byron; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and
for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act providing a new charter for the City of Byron, approved February 13, 1941
(Ga. L. 1941, p. 1210), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 13,
2001 (Ga. L. 2001, p. 3770), is amended by adding at the end of Section 2.1 the
following:
"In
addition to all other territory included in the corporate limits of the City of
Byron, the City of Byron shall also include within its corporate limits the
following:
(1)
All that tract or parcel of land, known as Georgia Highway 42, lying and being
in Land Lots 108, 114,115,116,117,141,142 and 143 of the Sixth Land District of
Peach County, Georgia. Said road right-of-way being 30 feet wide each side and
parallel to the center line of said road and more particularly described as
follows: Beginning at a point where the center line of Georgia Highway 42
intersects with the present corporate limits of Byron, Georgia; thence in a
westerly, then northerly, direction along the center line of Georgia Highway 42
to a point where the center line of Georgia Highway 42 intersects with Courtney
Drive; said point being the end of this description of Georgia Highway
42.

All that tract or parcel of land, known as Moseley Road, lying and being in Land
Lots 142, 143, 144, 146, 147, 148, 172 and 173 of the Sixth Land District of
Peach County, Georgia. Said road right-of-way being 40 feet wide each side and
parallel to the center line of said road and more particularly described as
follows: Beginning at a point where the center line of Moseley Road intersects
with the present corporate limits of Byron, Georgia; thence in a westerly
direction along the center line of Moseley Road to a point where the center line
of Moseley Road intersects with Newell Road; said point being the end of this
description of Moseley Road.

All that tract or parcel of land, known as Burnett Road, lying and being in Land
Lots 140, 141, 142, 147, 148 and 149 of the Sixth Land District of Peach County,
Georgia. Said road right-of-way being 40 feet wide each side and parallel to the
center line of said road and more particularly described as follows: Beginning
at a point where the center line of Burnett Road intersects with Moseley Road;
thence in a westerly direction along the center line of Burnett Road to a point
where the center line of Burnett Road intersects with Courtney Drive; said point
being the end of this description of Burnett Road.

All that tract or parcel of land, known as Courtney Drive, lying and being in
Land Lot 142 of the Sixth Land District of Peach County, Georgia. Said road
right-of-way being 25 feet wide each side and parallel to the center line of
said road and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point where
the center line of Courtney Drive intersects with Georgia Highway 42; thence in
a southerly direction along the center line of Courtney Drive for approximately
.5 miles to a point where the center line of Courtney Drive intersects with
Burnett Road; said point being the end of this description of Courtney
Drive.

All that tract or parcel of land, known as Jackson Road, lying and being in Land
Lot 147 of the Sixth Land District of Peach County, Georgia. Said road
right-of-way being 25 feet wide each side and parallel to the center line of
said road and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point where
the center line of Jackson Road intersects with Burnett Road; thence in a
southerly direction along the center line of Jackson Road for approximately .1
mile to a point where the center line of Jackson Road intersects with Moseley
Road; said point being the end of this description of Jackson Road.

All that tract or parcel of land, known as Jackson Court, lying and being in
Land Lot 147 of the Sixth Land District of Peach County, Georgia. Said road
right-of-way being 25 feet wide each side and parallel to the center line of
said road and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point where
the center line of Jackson Court intersects with Moseley Road; thence in a
southerly direction along the center line of Jackson Court for approximately .3
miles to a point where the center line of Jackson Court dead ends; said point
being the end of this description of Jackson Court.

All that tract or parcel of land, known as Georgia Highway 247 Connector, lying
and being in Land Lots 11 and 16 of the Fifth Land District and Land Lots
209, 210 and 211 of the Sixth Land District of Peach County, Georgia. Said road
right-of-way being 60 feet wide each side and parallel to the center line of
said road and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point
where the center line of Georgia Highway 247 Connector intersects with Georgia
Highway 49 South; thence in an easterly direction along the center line of
Georgia Highway 247 Connector for approximately 2.9 miles to a point where the
center line of Georgia Highway 247 Connector intersects with Houser´s Mill
Road; said point being the end of this description of Georgia Highway 247
Connector.

All that tract or parcel of land, known as Newell Road, lying and being in Land
Lots 148, 173, 180, 205, 206 and 211 of the Sixth Land District of Peach County,
Georgia. Said road right-of-way being 40 feet wide each side and parallel to the
center line of said road and more particularly described as follows: Beginning
at a point where the center line of Newell Road intersects with Moseley Road;
thence in a southerly direction along the center line of Newell Road for
approximately 2.1 miles to a point where the center line of Newell Road
intersects with Georgia Highway 49; said point being the end of this description
of Newell Road."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
